Finally in NC!!!

Well we finally made it across our first state line! We actually did it yesterday after our rest in town. I think our rest was just the ticket we needed. After spending a whole day icing my knee we put it to the test yesterday. We did a 12 mile day yesterday and I had no problems. Austin had some difficulties with his pack. But we think he figured it out and had little trouble today. We did another 12 miles today and tried to make it to a shelter for today. When we were in town the weather channel predicted a really bad storm for tonight. There is even a tornado watch in effect. You would never have guessed it by how today looked. It was sunny and beautiful all day. Same way as yesterday, which is a good change from what we have been walking through the past week.
Well hopefully we will be in town in the next few days and get our next mail drop. And for those of you keeping track at home, we have now hiked a total of 91.8 miles on the AT. Many more to go!

    I am so happy to hear your knee is doing better! We have been praying. I mailed your package today and stuffed it as full as I could with a few extra goodies thrown in. You and Austin look great and happy! Have fun! BTW, the buffs are particularly stylish and well chosen, don't you think?

    Congratuations on your 91.8 miles and your new state!! So glad your knee is doing better after rest, ibuprofin and ice! I know you are looking forward to the great food and extra goodies coming your way in a few days. Love reading the blog and looking at pictures.
